New to Pipes as of Christmas Thanks for My Girlfriend!

Welcome. I might go against the "rules" but I smoke whichever pipe I like whenever I like. I only started with a Savenelli which I smoked 5 or 6 times a day each day and its perfectly fine. I'm also not anal about not smoking aros and non aros in the same pipe either. I started smoking Dunhill...

    Pu-Erh Tea & Pipes/Cigars?

Well they are all pressed into shape and they are super dense and packed tight enough I need to use a ton of force to get them apart properly. I'm pretty sure throwing one at somebody would kill them ;-)

    Pu-Erh Tea & Pipes/Cigars?

I brew gong fu style as well. I do two quick washes (~2 seconds each) then start with 10 second brews. I have a 1.7L kettle so I stop when the kettle runs out. Probably 7-10 infusions. I certainly wouldn't drink Pu-erh tea all day long and I do enjoy 'normal' tea but it does make for a nice...

    Pu-Erh Tea & Pipes/Cigars?

I've started drinking them with everything. I find they compliment the tobacco nicely. Certainly better than white tea/coffee. I think the earthy notes in the tea goes well together.

    Pu-Erh Tea & Pipes/Cigars?

Just wondering if anyone enjoys drinking Pu-erh tea while smoking a pipe and/or a cigar? I have 4 Pu-erh's dating back to 2001. For those that don't know about Pu-erh tea, it's a fermented Chinese tea that ages just like tobacco. The older the tea the better it tastes and the more expensive it is.

    Loose Churchwarden Stem

Yep, that worked :) Managed to snug it up a bit :) Thanks!

    Loose Churchwarden Stem

Ok thanks :) I have a suspicion it's the air conditioning in the room may be doing it. I might just warm up the stem in some boiling water and flaring out the end a fraction to tighten it up a bit.

    Loose Churchwarden Stem

Hi, I received my Vauen Auenland Hugg churchwarden pipe the other day and I've had a few bowls with it. I find the fit of the stem to be very loose when the pipe is cold and when it heats up it's nice and tight. Does anyone else have this problem with similar pipes or am I just lucky? Cheers...

    Keeping the Bowl Clean

Hmm ok seems everyone has a different method. I've got a nice dull knife I can use too.

    Keeping the Bowl Clean

Hi, I have two meers (one whole meer and one briar meer lined pipe). I'm noticing on the sides of the bowls that a bit of a 'cake' is forming. Once the bowl is finished I wipe it out several times with a coarse paper towel but there's always a little bit left on so i use my fingernail to gently...

Filtered pipes.... I think I've been converted

Oh don't forget to put the filter the right way around (blue to mouthpiece)

Filtered pipes.... I think I've been converted

Give it a go, nothing to lose but a bowl of baccy :) I may be able to go back and smoke the extra strong baccy with the filter now. Might order a tin to try.
