    Today's smoke was some Forte in a Bonfiglioli followed by ODF in a Stanwell Royal Briar #87. I've just a couple months of Mac Baren ODF and Bold Kentucky left. Any suggestions for replacements?

    Luxury Estates or Excellent New Pipes?

    Is it just my imagination, or are prices on estate pipes getting higher and higher? Is demand that high? Or supply that low? Or do sellers have an inflated view of the value of an old pipe? Not talking about Bangs, etc., just standard Stanwell's, Savinelli's, etc.

    Mac Baren Bold Kentucky in a Danish Charles Fairmorn I bought new 40+ years ago. Still smokes wonderfully.

    Just Bought a Fancier Tamper

    For me, tampers must have a round head that attaches in the middle. Offset tampers, and tampers that are not round, I find to be a royal pain. I very happy with my 8deco, but am just as happy with the standard pipe nail. A golf tee works in a pinch, too.

    Anyone 'Tweak' His Pipe Tobacco?

    My go to blend is 50% Mac Baren Old Dark Fired/50% Mac Baren Bold Kentucky. I've also mixed both with Mac Baren Burley Flake with good results.

    The 616KS has a fairly large shank: However, the 320EX has a very large shank: Not sure a saddle bit would look good on either pipe.
