    Influence of Tobacco Tin Art

I often try unknown-to-me wines based on the label design. I typically prefer traditional looking wine labels when blind buying considering the varietal, appellation, etc. I consume more wine than tobacco, but tend to choose tobaccos based on recommendations and don't much consider packaging...

Most definitely. Engish Breakfast or Earl Grey for me. Also rooibos and chamomile.

When Did You Start Smoking A Pipe?

First abortive attempt at around 24 years old (almost 20 years ago now) with my dad's old Grabow Duke and Borkum Riff. His pipe smoking was a very brief phase around the time he gave up cigarettes. That pipe had sat around in a drawer for years when I picked it up. I put it back down for all the...

    Newbie story- an introduction

Jay here, started a couple years ago with a nice rusticated basket billiard and a tin of Dunhill Standard Mixture Mellow. After a few smokes, I snapped the stem carelessly knocking the pipe over the bathroom wastebasket. Not knowing it could be repaired, I tossed it and set the tobacco aside...

A History of the Tobacco Barn

Grew up in the Burley belt and saw a lot of air-curing tobacco barns that looked like derelict structures until harvest time. The auction house in our little town shut down mid-90's and some of the farmers had already begun producing sunflowers. Haven't been back for 15 years, don't know the...

    Pulling the stem off

I have a rusticated foursquare billiard that has such a slender bit it will barely pass a standard BJ Long pipe cleaner. It's signed 506 Italy (seems a Savinelli, but without the Sav nomenclature, a second? Dunno.) I like to use a bristled cleaner at the end of every day, so it gets disassembled...

Four New To Me Pipes To Restore (PICS)

Pretty sure "The Pipe" was made from phenolic resin (something like bakelite). http://pipedia.org/wiki/Materials_and_Construction

Home Blend I Just Drew Up I Want To Try This.

I would not use waxed paper, unless I wanted the paraffin to become part of my blend. Perhaps non-waxed parchment paper?

    Pipe In Art Considered Porn?

    Exactly this.

How Many Forums are You on?

This is the only tobacco forum I've ever investigated. Several one-make (model specific) car forums, my local club's autocross forum, a couple social networks.

    Pipe Tobacco Roll-ups

I've crafted some fairly serviceable rollies with PS Luxury Navy Flake and a dab of Lane BLWB in a zig zag orange. Rub the hell out of it and press it in a paper towel to pull out the excess moisture.

    Vertigo Pipe Lighter:

I have the "Governer" model for pipes. Side exit soft flame plus onboard pick/tamper. Nice lighter, but I would prefer something a little lighter weight (this thing's a tank) and with a transparent gas tank.
