Looking For A Boswell's Countryside Replacement For A Daily Smoke
I too like Countryside. Because of the Lat-Oriental feature, I would suggest Stokkebye English Oriental Supreme, Newminster English Oriental, or possibly Sutliff's English Oriental. All reasonable bulk blends.- JimPM

My Grandpa
Nice story. My grandfather also had the PA and SWR tins sitting on top his old Silvertone radio that sat right side his personal armchair. Many, many, many memories of him smoking PA and I myself love it so it must run in the family.- JimPM

How Many Open Blends?
Don't think me awful but I have well over 400 different blends in my cellar, some jarred, some tinned. Thoughts on a Second Pipe
Country Gentleman is perhaps MM best made pipe IMO, I have more than several of them. If it were me I would spend the money on a nice entry-mid level briar. But again, paying over $15-$20 for a cob is something I will not do. Look to Rossi, Ropp, Savinelli, Baraccini or maybe a basic Peterson...- JimPM

Need Some Advice, Please!
First of all I suffer from excessive TAD. I only review the tobacco's specification and do not seek others' opinions. If the questioned tobacco's description, as far as the recipe goes, is something that seems appealing to me I will purchase it. Not always winner but many times, yes they are.- JimPM

Cobs are great and require very little maintenance. That projection is standard for the cob's construction. You are fine to leave it alone.
