    1792 Flake

I like to smoke it in my Giant Ropp along with a glass of Bean Rye and a PBR back. It's a rush but seems to wear off soon enough. After that first surge of nicotine, the rest of the pipe seems ordinary to me. Asp

    1792 Flake

I agree that it's strong, but that's exactly what I like about it, along with the aroma. With cooler weather here, it's one of my all-time faves. Two pounds out to get me through the next Samuel Gawith drought, eh? Asp

    1792 Flake

Just scored two pounds of SG 1792 Flake from my new favorite online tobacconist: http://fujipub.com/82ave/index.html Very nice people, and shorter ship times than the East coast. Asp

    Fathers Day

No pipes or tobacco, but my wife got me a bottle of 12 year old Highland Park, some Scottish shortbread, assortment of Scottish preserves, and a book on the harbor at Scapa Flow (notice a theme? my ancestors are from the Orkney and Shetland Isles). Scottish salmon grilled on a maple plank, and...

    Peterson Tobacco

Peterson's P3 is a bit of a chore, what with it being a plug, but well worth the effort. I let it dry for a day after removing the cellophane wrapper, as it seemed too moist at that point. Two pipes later, I really think it's worth the effort.

    Place to buy

I agree, they both get a bunch of my business, along with smokingpipes.com, which gets most of it.

    world cup

Spain was tha leader at 7/2 odds as of yesterday, and the US was 100/1. I'd bet the US has a bit better look tomorrow. Argentina was weak in a 1-0 win with Maradona as coach--maybe they'll slip. Why doesn't England have a better homeboy goalie?

Sports Comments. Whatever. Let\'s Here it.

US-1 England-1 I'll settle for that as a good start in the World Cup! I'd bet the odds sheet shows a tick down from the 100/1 odds posted yesterday. Wish I'd bet yesterday...

    Remedies for tongue burn.

A large spoonful of creamy peanut butter works for me. It seems to smooth things out fast. Followed with a glass of really cold milk.

June 2010 - What are you Smoking?

Altadis sample received. It was Sutliffe No. 5 Blend

Pstlpkr, I'll have to try some Ezra Brooks. I'm sort of stuck on either Beam Rye or Knob Creek of late. The No. 5 has an aroma that seems bigger than the flavor profile, but I like them both. I usually have an elk steak sandwich (still working on the elk!) and a PBR for lunch--only 16 working...
