    How to remove a filter?

Thanks for the answers! So i guess there is no special technique to completely avoid ripping the filter in the first place when removing it.

    How to remove a filter?

Hello folks. I know the question might seem a bit dumb... I've had it happen, although pretty seldomly, when removing a charcoal filter, when the surrounding paper is pretty soaked and on a pipe with a particularly good fit between the filter and the mouthpiece, that the paper rips up and i end...

    How to Unscrew a Mouthpiece

I mean it's a bit weird, but if it works for you, why not. WHAT?! You monster! Edit: Do you really double CC it though? How did that come to be?

    How to Unscrew a Mouthpiece

Good to hear. Wanted to test the waters, if there had been horror storys of broken stems i definitely would have rethought my twisted ways.

    How to Unscrew a Mouthpiece

I meant those little groves/scratches, that will inevitably accumulate on the outside of the tenon and having those roughly align with each other versus them criss-crossing. Sorry if I expressed that poorly.

    How to Unscrew a Mouthpiece

Title edited. I recently got into a discussion about how to properly screw on and off a mouthpiece. Until now, I always screwed it in clockwise and screwed it off counterclockwise, just like i would a screw, because it feels natural to me, as all the mini grooves on the tenon would be roughly...

    Pipe Mud Again

Just curious, why even use salt at all in that mixture? What's the benefit?

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

I'm starting to feel a slight obsession with briar over here...

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

Most of the cake was pretty soft and easy to get rid of. It was only in the bottom third or so of the bowls that there was another kind of cake beneath, really hard to get rid of. In the course of the earlier thread, i had given up on it, until i got encouraged to scrape out more, and there was...

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

Fair point! I must admit, i gave up on sanding relatively early, as i just wasn't able to effectively reach into the lower parts and the bottom of the bowl. Maybe i should give it a shot again.

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

if you want to call it an extraction, yes. the idea was to use it as a solvent for the last cake remains. let it dissolve, pour it out, (repeat as needed), cake remains gone. basically the same as in my understanding alcohol is widely used, but probably much more effective at dissolving.

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

I think we have a bit of a misunderstanding here. I'm not talking about using MOSHs as a finish. Im talking about using LOW BOILING MOSHs as a solvent to get effectively rid of the cake. I will go for the suggestions in your previous post first (and probably not for MOSHs at any point, with how...

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

Thanks for that elaborate answer! A few things in there i still have to try. I suspect i will have to take it to as bare a briar as i can, as my alcohol & salt turned out with white salt, i then did it once more for good measure and still wasn't enough apparently. And to clarify again, MOAHs...

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

That's exactly what i was talking about, when i said that there are relatively safe formulations available for household use... Maybe it is a translation issue after all.... So the question again stands - to be clear: what speaks against using a low boiling mineral oil consisting of only...

    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

maybe im just lost in translation, but what exactly do you think mineral oil is?
