Lacquer may not be my best bet

I Have a Nice Pipe and Never Noticed
Long ago I bought a pipe just for the way it looked. Got some tobacco, smoked it and then put it away in a drawer and forgot about it. Turns out to be a Danish Sovereign model 392. I've read opinions on both sides of this question. I've heard some smokers say 'don't worry about it, fill it, smoke it, and don't look back. Others have said fill in varying levels to build carbon. Does it really matter? And why?- Harsh_Smoke

The first step is done
I've got my 'Bones' stained and allowed to dry for two days. The Angelus Oxblood stain turned out very well. Next on to the shellac coating. Will post final results.- Harsh_Smoke

How to Re-Hydrate Pipe Tobacco
