    Jim's 50th Pipe Smoking Anniversary.

Conrats thats actually really cool. I just had my 1 year of smoking a month or so ago. A decent cheap briar and 2 oz of "not no local" bought at the gatlinburlier while on vacation in the smokies. Hoping I can make it to a 50 year anniversary. Cheers!

Cellaring- How Long is too Long?

I think I have around 15 lbs give or take at this point. The vast majority are bulk virginias like sutliff virginia slices, newminster 400, and hh pure virginia

Cellaring- How Long is too Long?

Thanks man. I could tell when I started that this would be a lifelong thing. Even got a really good friend into it so I have someone to enjoy it with and a good excuse to get away from the wives. Hoping to start getting into some aromatics soon. Still yet to find a blend I dont thoroughly enjoy!

Cellaring- How Long is too Long?

Either way I'd rather have too much and not need it than want it and not have it. Cellar is steadily building

    Dry Crispy Dottle

It seemed to be pretty bad with all my pipes except for the cobs. Now it's only with a couple of them and not every smoke. I think breaking them in seemed to have caused it to be reduced alot, but it could also be me having more experience

    Dry Crispy Dottle

The thing is is that for nearly all my pipes I also always get gurgle and a nice mouthful of nasty tobacco juice. Well probably about halfway through the bowl I will get one big gurgle so I get rid of it one way or another and it doesn't come back usually

    Dry Crispy Dottle

He looks like an old man from Michigan I worked with on a few jobs over the past 2 years. Kinda miss that guy he was sick and noones The states are on their way there. Doubt it will get that bad soon though. But who knows I wouldn't put anything past Big Brother

    Dry Crispy Dottle

I dont either. I just toss it when I realize it's to that point

    Dry Crispy Dottle

Just seems like everything I've ever read talks about wet dottle or fine white ash, of which I have only ever experienced the fine white ash 2 or 3 times out of hundreds of smokes over my past year smoking. Which as I mentioned doesn't seem to be a problem, but just trying to figure out of there...

    Dry Crispy Dottle

I don't forsee that being a problem as I only ever smoke 3/4 to 7/8 of the bowl. As soon as it goes out immediately after I re light and its near the end I know that it is crispy charcoal and will not smoke so I toss the rest

    Dry Crispy Dottle

Is it normal to have dry crispy dottle? I have never once had dottle that was wet, it is always like charcoal that cannot burn unless torched every time I take a puff. Not here and there or sometimes, I mean every single time I have a pipe. Doesn't matter which pipe I use, which blend I smoke...

Cellaring- How Long is too Long?

As in Indian reservation? I've actually been to 4 different reservations in 4 different states in the past 6 months and couldn't find any pipe tobacco on any of them

Cellaring- How Long is too Long?

Im out of town for work and a few weeks ago went into a little tobacco shop just to check it out. In the back underneath their pile of tins (a small selection) were 4 tins of dunhill. 1 aperitif, 1 standard mixture mellow, and 2 ready rubbed. All dated from 2011 to 2014 if I dated them...
