    That's It I Quit!

After a lot of good advices, tips and tricks from all of you guys I have finally understood that I was packing too loose, I was puffing too fast and too hard (a lot too hard) and that my baccy was not dry enough. I think I've finally understood (almost, I have to keep practicing!) the breathing...

    That's It I Quit!

Yes I think you are absolutely right; my Big Ben is a short straight pipe and I never get gurgle in it. I will look to get other short straight pipes eventually after I have tried all the good advices I had here today. Thank you very much!

    That's It I Quit!

You are absolutely right about the difference of draw between the cigar and the pipe. I will look to get myself a pipe with filters it sound like a very good idea tobget rid of moisture. In fact I have my eyes on one (or two!!) Brigham pipe. I think it could resolve my moisture problem! Thank...

    That's It I Quit!

Thank you very much! Maybe I am giving too much credit to what I have seen on the internet like: one is supposed to be able to smoke a full pipe without any needs to relight and/or you are not suppose to have any gurgle at the bottom of the pipe and other stuff like that. I will be very cautious...

Thank you for your kind words! It's just that sometimes it's frustrating to think I am not doing the things the right way.

    That's It I Quit!

Thank you very much. I will do exactly that. I will pay more attention. Maybe I am packing my pipe too tight and not dry enough. My pipe never gets really hot though.

    That's It I Quit!

Thank you very much! I think maybe you found my main problem! And let me ask you something else please: if my pipe goes out when I try the breathing technique maybe my pipe is packed too tight? I am not putting a lot of pressure but maybe I should pack it even looser?

    That's It I Quit!

I prefer by far the taste of pipe smoking... Unfortunately... I like smoking cigars but not that much.

    That's It I Quit!

Thank you very much! You are absolutely right I am litteraly drawing on the pipe, to be completely honest I don't really understand the breathing technique as my pipe is always going out when I try that technique. I think you got a very good pointer there.

    That's It I Quit!

I will surely give a try to MM cobs. At the moment I am smoking Sutliff Match Victorian, Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and Sutliff Virginia 507C

    That's It I Quit!

Thanks a lot I will try to dry more the tobacco as for the tamper I do it very lightly but I will be more cautious with that too!

    That's It I Quit!

As a matter of fact my straight pipes does not gurgle as much as by bent ones. I use a pipe cleaner one or two times while smoking but it still annoys me. I would prefer not to have to. Smoking a pipe brings me a lot of joy but when I don't have the choice to run a pipe cleaner to remove the...
