    The Danish Pipe Shop…thoughts?

I've purchased a pipe from them on two different occasions. Both times I got my pipe shockingly fast. Have no fear.

    Favorite 6mm charcoal filter

Yeah, I prefer the 9mm filters to the 6mm filters.

Seeking Larger Online or Offline Tobacco Trading

I'll simply echo what mso489 said. SmokingPipes.com is the best place for everything. Great customer service and you actually see pictures of the pipe you're buying, not just a stock photo of that model. That said, I'm not clear what you meant by "trading".

English Blends with Little to No Latakia ?

    I had the same thought.

    Tight Stem / Tenon

Great advice all, as always. Thank you for the help. Cheers.

    Tight Stem / Tenon

Thanks everyone. I'll give all three of those a try. One more question. I'm not at all handy. What grade sandpaper would be advisable if I need to go that route?

    Tight Stem / Tenon

I just bought one of those Savinelli Ottagonos that SmokingPipes dropped last week. Cool pipe, but it's really hard to get the stem out. Is that something that I should expect will gradually grow easier with time or does the tightness indicate a poorly made pipe? Thanks in advance.

    Hot Pipes

The thing I've learned is it's all a bit more magic than science. In the end, it comes down to loser/firmer and less dry/more dry, and the permeations in between. Which is why I found it's easiest to keep smoking the same tobacco, trying out the various permeations. If you keep playing around...

    Hot Pipes

Unfortunately, you've only narrowed the issue down to the only two problems that exist in the world of pipes. :)

    Favorite 6mm charcoal filter

In the 6mm I've only used Savinelli's. However, in the 9mm, which I prefer, I've used Peterson, White Elephant and Vauen, and can't tell the slightest difference between the three.

Thanks for that. I had no idea.

    Anyone Smoking Cobblestone Chess Series?

I assume you're asking because of the Smoking Pipes monthly video? Never had it. Can't say the video intrigued me enough to give it a shot. If you try it, post back.

    What Spirits?

It's a hard one to answer. I drink everything from diet coke, coffee and tea, to a bourbon or IPA with my pipe. It's kind of dependent on time of day, blend of tobacco, and my mood. I think the best advice is to simply experiment and see what your palate appreciates with the tobacco. Cheers.

Can you elaborate a bit on "quickly". Are you speaking of days, weeks or months? Thanks.

    Unburned Tobacco or Dottle Question

I feel as though my breakthrough moment with pipe smoking came when I stopped caring. Stopped caring about how I pack, how often it goes out, how often I relight, how much of the bowl I finish, how much I toss out. I mean, what does a bowl of pipe tobacco cost... between $0.30 - $0.60? Unless...
