*** What Are You Smoking?*** (April 2016)

    I Hate Musical Plays

With some exceptions (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q, Sweeny Todd, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) I agree. And I was a musician/actor in Grease. Which I hate with a burning passion to this day. That said, a lot of one's enjoyment has to do with the perfect combination of good...

And Deathmetal, I missed your post. A salute to you, sir.

What Music Are You Listening to - April 2016?

For something slightly different, in case any members are interested, my love of both black and power metal has lead me here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Eeriu2FoUog

The Movie You Always Stop & Watch

There've been too many good posts, I can't compliment everyone on their good taste. Regardless, my list: First and always foremost, Boondock Saints. Band of Brothers Seraphim Falls Devil's Advocate Saving Private Ryan Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy There Will Be Blood In Bruge Dead Poet...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (April 2016)

Nightcap in a Peterson system 312. And in a different pipe every day this past week. I need to check in more often.

    NEW PIPE BESIDES PETERSON

For my own measly two cents, I'll say that my Peterson system was my favorite pipe until I got a Stanwell. I'm currently thinking of another of those or a Savinelli for my next pipe, whenever that happens. Both brands are similar to Peterson in regards to both price and quality, and there's a...

    What are You Reading?

I've recently read All the Pretty Horses and The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy, and just moved on to Cities of the Plain, which is the third installment in the trilogy. I've thoroughly enjoyed them all so far. Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami also snuck in there as a brief reprieve.

Don't Save Back the Nice Pipes

Not that large of a collection here, about six pipes that I smoke with any regularity, but my Stanwell, Peterson, and 1920s Kaywoodie see less use than others, mostly because I usually smoke away from home and am loathe to carry or walk with these. That may change, though, since I'm left...

When is the last time you actually "Won" something off of Ebay?

It's been forever, but I have won pipes before. I think my Vauen was a buy now, but I had a Wellington that was a great bid buy and a good smoker. Which I later gave to a friend who I thought deserved it. Anyway, looks like you really hit the jackpot! Also, Halfy, I agree regarding not stressing...

    Your First Blend

B&M's relabeled blend that was somebody's cherry blend. Probably Lane or Stokkebey? At any rate, can't stand aromatics these days, so I'm not planning any of my own nostalgia visits. The blend that really got me seriously into pipe smoking was Nightcap.

    Fire Extinguisher Anyone?

I see where you're going, but, here at least, there are much more serious fire threats than my pipe: candles, gas stove/oven, various flammable fluids, and most of all the wood fireplace. And we've never had a fire extinguisher around. Should we? Maybe. Probably. My point is that the proximity...

    What are You Reading?

Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh; I read Vile Bodies in college and enjoyed it, but I seem to be comprehending this novel somewhat more easily. Maybe it's a result of knowing what to extpect from Waugh at the beginning this time.
