I use them on my out of doors walking pipes they work well also for driving where you can’t really hold the bowl with your hand as I prefer when at home if your over clenching they will let you know without wreaking havoc on your stems- Donn Scott Shetler

I have found captain black to be an easy to find excellent pipe tobacco I prefer the blue myself it’s a light aromatic with a lovely aroma and tastes close to the way it smells . Easy on the tongue too. A little moist on opening but keep it loosely folded it will get just right in a day or two...- Donn Scott Shetler

I have been working on my tamping technique since reading your post . a lighter pack ( I’m only using the weight of my tamper ) to good result. Although , when walking my dog I press a bit harder to get a longer smoke . I learn a lot in these forums- Donn Scott Shetler
