I'm crushed. Not only do, (did), I use 5100 as the base of many of my own blends, it has been my 'go-to' tobacco for a lot of years. Charatan
I prefer Charatan Make, (pre Lane/Dunhill made...Lane distributed [florid 'L'] are fine, Prescot Street. ie., late 1950s and earlier), to most English pipes, and English pipes to most others. Not to the exclusion of others, by any means, but it is a preference.- docwrite

Briar Polishing
I use a clean blue "J-Cloth" to give pipes, (and stems), a quick rub before returning them to the rack, a newer one if it needs a bit of a polish, (still has a soft 'tooth' to it), paying special attention to the rim to prevent any buildup, and an older, softer one for a light clean, taking care...- docwrite

Smoking a new tobacco for me, 4Noggins Red Virginia bulk, in a very nice Gefapip, (St. Claude), "500" straight, '21' diamond shank bulldog, (a great deal of neat birdseye), with a dram, and Miles on the box. Almost all of my pipe photos are on the hard drive of a tower desktop that died. If I can't get it running again, I'll have to put it in an older tower as I'm using a fairly old laptop now.
