    Petersons and quality?

Peterson Rosslare are always a good bet. I've had many Peterson's from all era's and I find the Rosslare size, beauty, and quality briar are among the best Peterson has to offer. You can pick up an unsmoked Rosslare from JUDD for less than $150. Well worth the value! I don't know if he has any...

    EBay pipes

My problem with meers is they may be unique and elegant, but may not be very functional. If you do buy a meer to smoke, avoid the figural carvings and look for a standard shape with a lattice or smooth finish. If you buy a figural, you may never smoke it to avoid tarnishing its beauty. Also if...

Show Off Your Savinelli Pipe Here!

I believe Savinelli produces the best factory pipe in the market. They are consisantly good smokers and I haven't owned a bad one yet. I have over 40 in my collection and all are in my rotation. Obviously my guibleo d oro's, autographs, and nonpareils are my favorites due to there grain and...

    "BLACK MALLORY MATTERS"

I have recently purchase a 3.5 oz. tin of 15 year old Rattray's Black Mallory. It's FANTASTIC! Does anyone else have any recommendations on quality latakia's? I 've smoked a lot of bulk blends but I find them pretty crappy. I am an avid Virginia Smoker and on occasion, I will grab my Latakia...

James Upshall Pipes - A Discussion

From what I hear Moty has tarnished the "PRESTIGE" of the Upshall brand. The Barnes and Jones era were the "golden years" of the Upshall company.

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

If you are interested in a Crosby shape, I have a Willmer Belfair Estate I could part with for $40.

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

I believe Bing Crosby's true favorite pipe was a SASIENI! As well as Clark Gable. I had a Sasieni 2 dot family era that I recently sold. It was a near perfect specimen.

    Savinelli PAD

Savinelli's best mass produced shape, without a doubt!

    Savinelli PAD

I am searching for a Guilbleo D' Oro 320 ks or ex. I would prefer a gently used estate because the $1000 price tag is too rich for my blood!

New to it all...Am I headed in the right direction?

It's a good start. I would graduate and experiment with other notable pipe makers and higher grades. I pretty much have tried all the mainstay Danish, English, and Italian brands. I stay away from American mass produced pipes because they are heavy lacquered and are very cheaply made...

    Pipe smokers Christmas gifts

I might add purchasing gift certificates from local b and m's. I believe the internet distributors make enough throughout the year and the "little guy's" have a difficult time making dues. Sure it may cost a little more, but we need to keep those in business who are progressive toward our kind...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (November 2015)

50% McClelland's Red Cake (bulk) and 50% stokkebye's navy flake (bulk) out of a Savinelli Guilbleo D' Oro (707 ks billiard. The mix of red cake and navy flake is heavenly. It gives the red cake a little more punch and the navy flake a smoother smoke. perfect combination!

    Radice Buttons Breaking - Coincidence?

Rich Lewis also can fabricate a Radice stem if you prefer to send it domestically. He can also used Vulcanite to prevent this from happening again.

    Radice Buttons Breaking - Coincidence?

I think you should contact Radice and possibly ask if they can use Vulcanite. They do make vulcanite on some pipes but only 10% of the pipes get one according to the website. I'm sure it is better they know about this problem so they can address the issue. No feedback is worse than bad feedback...
