    Boxpressed: What For?

I don't like them. Most box pressed smokes are rectangular as opposed to square. If the burn is off, you may have to rotate the cigar and smoke it the "long" way to even it out. Just don't like. There are a couple smokes that are so damn good, I just don't care, like Ashton VSG, Foundation Olmec...

    Cigar Event with Chazz Palminteri

Great night at the cigar lounge with Chazz Palminteri, writer and star of A Bronx Tale. Everyone got a signed box of his signature smokes and a bottle of his wine. Chazz hung around to take pictures with everyone. Great story teller too!

    F1 2025 🏎️

I felt so bad for Piastri. He seemed completely dejected. Watching Max and Sainz hooting and hollering for their P1 and P3 finishes, and he's on the P2 podium looking like he'd rather be anywhere else. Regardless of the fact that he most likely won't win the WDC, I hope he has a great race on...

    Cigar TAD 2025

Well, my most recent TAD is a cigar lounge membership. The annual membership includes a monthly, use it or lose it, bar credit that almost completely offsets the annual membership. The space is beautiful with a huge comfortable seating area, several TVs and a full bar. As part of my...

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

I am the same way. I have two speeds; all out and passed out.

    What Were Your Go-To Tobacco’s in 2025?

In only my second year of smoking I found myself branching out from the aromatics and enjoying many different types. If there was one tobacco I found myself consistently going back to this year it was Peter Stokkebye PS-35 Champagne. It was the first tobacco I smoked two years ago and I still...

    F1 2025 🏎️

I think they will too. Qatar was an epic failure for them. Piastri looked so damn good all weekend.

    What's your favorite painting?

I had this Dali print back in my room at college. "Impressions of Africa" painted in 1938.

    What's your favorite painting?

Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emanuel Leutze. I stop into the Met to see it every time I am NYC. It's massive at over 12' 5" x 21' 3". I sit on the bench in front of it and let it suck me in.

    Things I Found Thrifting

Very nice. $6 is a steal! I have wanted to start collecting tins, but prices are ridiculous! I'd estimate that the average price around here for the small Prince Albert tin or small Half and Half is around $15-$20.

    Another Ashtray Stand Restored

@tbradsim1 that's beautiful and fully intact! I picked up it's blue cousin some month's back but sadly the ashtray wasn't with it. My local antique shop just got in a pink version WITH the ashtray and he priced it at $150.

    Another Ashtray Stand Restored

The Warden spotted this one and said “I don’t hate that, you should get it.” Made by Loevsky & Loevsky of Carlstadt, NJ. I originally thought 1960s but further research says probably 1930s. I believe it was electroplated brass and I lost a lot of that during the initial cleaning, so I went with...

    This Week's Restorations

    Vulcanite Stem "Bath"?

I use Oxiclean as a first step to restoring vulcanite stems. I stir every 30 seconds or so never letting the grains rest on the stem. This avoids the pitting. Learned from experience! After that, I rinse with water then begin sanding with micro polishing pads. 400-600 for the heavy tooth chatter...

    Things I Found Thrifting

Had a pretty good day today at two antique shops we frequent. I found an Italian-made crystal and marble ashtray stand, an art deco mini lighter, a couple Watneys dimple mugs and a very clean copy of Bad Co’s Running With the Pack.
