I've always been passionate about meerschaum and briar pipes; it goes back to my childhood. I must have been nine or ten years old then, fascinated by this beautiful instrument that produced smoke. My earliest memories are of the old meerschaum pipes belonging to one of my uncles, antique pipes that would mesmerize even the most discerning collectors with their splendid shapes and lovely orange and reddish hues. I was allowed to smoke these pipes when I first started out, and that helped me become a full-time smoker. Today I own about a hundred pipes, mostly high-grade. I've never skimped on the price; I wanted what seemed to me to be the best, and I've never been disappointed with my purchases.
