Starting my smoking day late with a bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats. Going to check on the ferals after I post this smoke. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Happy Saturday, all!

4th Generation 1982 (vanilla, blackberry; some navy flake) in a Brigham Voyageur 136. This tobacco is one of what I refer to as my "Scandinavian Granola" blends; it's "chunky." I don't think I dried the tobacco enough, 'cos I got warm and steamy. Nice sense of blackberry, though, and nice room note.

I need to not test a new tobacco variety and a new pipe at the same time, because it doesn't provide me with a baseline for interpretation...

The new "witchy" Peterson has a distinct and disturbing whistle, so trying it out will have to wait. Have messaged the vendor to request a replacement stem. Have learned a lot about "whistling Petersons" after searching the web for info. Bother.

I really like this Brigham, though. :)

Warm enough here that it's damp outside, which actually makes it feel much colder. Expecting snow tomorrow, and dropping temps after that, so will head out for groceries soon. Hand knit wool socks and a hand knit wool sweater will keep me comfortable. Nothing like wool when it's cold and damp here. Once upon a time, I kept heritage breed sheep, so I'm fond of the smell of damp wool... though others may not find it so appealing. :)
