Now I’m enjoying a pre-republic System Standard 314 filled with what I smoke when I can’t decide what to smoke-the contents of my Odds and Ends jar.

Not sure if it’s the size (1” wide bowl) or newness of the pipe, but Westminster tastes mellow and almost sweet in it. I wouldn’t have guessed it was Westminster the flavor is so different.
Relaxing after a wonderful salad, orange roughy and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2020 Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. The ferals are still inside out of the cold, windy rain.
ODF in a Peterson System Standard B42. Surprisingly mild night here in northern NJ, so I'm taking advantage.

You may be wondering what this music (Fritz Kreisler's Tambourine Chinois) has to do with the new Falcon Stack bowl I just got a few hours ago. Actually, quite a lot.
I remember beginning to learn the Kreisler in 4th year University, and wondering "How on Earth am I going to play this 2 1/2 minute monster? More technique packed into this beastie than quite a few concertos.
I'm saying the same thing about the Stack bowl. Not confronted anything like this before. Guess I'll have to find out the same way - I tackled "Tambo" head on and, although not one of my frequent encores, did perform it as an encore a few times and as I said yesterday, I had planned on including it on a concert when I was programmed to play the Mozart Violin Concerto #3, when covid nailed us.
Any suggestions as to how to approach the stack would be welcomed. In the meantime, I thought a few of you might like to hear this nifty little piece of terror in an incredible live performance by the master Fritz Kreisler himself.

This pipes beautiful!
I recently purchased the same pipe. I want to love it but there are flaws in the bowl (out of round) and a few scars in the blast. I realize that can happen but I am most dissappointed that I emailed them twice and have heard nothing...C&D Exclusive in a Merchant Service Big Billiard and the last of the Coffee
@gord Yesterday you were talking about flushing your medications down the toilet, and today you're having a conversation with your pipe. Is there a connection, and, um, do we need to be worried?!
No, don't need to worry. Two of the seven meds I've been given have been banished to another location. . . I've had them and pitched them before. Same ones. Helped. I don't have a lot of enthusiasm for meds. They don't fit well with pipe smoking in my experience . . . .
