This small batch blend goes on sale Wednesday, December 10 at 6 p..m. EST.

A bed of year 2000 heirloom red Virginias along with year 2019 Georgian and North Carolina red Virginias offer an abundance of tart and tangy citrus, bread, grass, sugar, bitter sour lemon, floralness, spice, mild tangy darker fruit, earth, wood, and light acidity. They take a small lead. The year 2022 Italian dark fired Kentucky provides a wealth of herbs, smoke, fragrant floralness, sourness, tangy mesquite, peaty vegetation, toast, spice, cigar, earth, wood, tart citrus, some nuts, acidic vinegar, tea, and cocoa. It is a close competitor to the Virginias mostly due to its floral, mesquite and spice qualities. There appears to be a very light creamy vanilla casing present. The strength and taste levels are full. The nic-hit is a step past the center of medium to strong. Won’t bite or get harsh. Has a few small rough notes. The mildly moist broken flakes are easily manipulated for your personal preference, and need no dry time. Deeply rich and well balanced, it burns cool, clean and a tad slow with a little inconsistent fruity, sour, herbal, floral, smoky mesquite, spicy, lightly creamy, slightly acidic flavor that extends to the pleasantly lasting after taste. The sweet, floral, mesquite room notes are a little pungent. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires a few more than an average number of relights. Not an all day smoke. I suggest a small to moderate size bowl for this blend. Three and a half stars out of four.

I love Toscano cigars but every blend I've had with italian dark fire has been very disappointing to me. It just doesn't work in the pipe for me. I think maybe if they used much less and it was barely a condiment I might enjoy it but this sounds heavier on the DF than I would like. I was very excited about the PUCCINI blend and bought a few tins but have already moved them on to others..

I would say that this blend has less than most of the others.

If you don't mind, Jim, is this completely different overall blend the the C&D Dusk, or is it similar as far as the amount of dark fired?
You mentioned the topping, but due to simular components, I'd love to know how different they are.
To me the Dusk needed a bit more dark fired.
Thanks for the review.

There is a very mild sweet casing in Jubilee, but there's no topping. There's no toppings or casings in Dusk. Dusk is a little stronger with a higher amount of perique. The Italian Kentucky level is just a little more noticeable in Jubilee because there's no perique like there is in Dusk to tone it down. There's no bright Va.s in Jubilee like there is in Dusk. I don't think that you'd mistake one for the other.
