Morning Smoke: coffee, burley, cob. Still imitating
@bobpnm but with a twist. My coffee is cold, my burley is my own burley based English, and well, a cob is a cob is a cob, but I'm breaking in my new gift, a full size MM rather than the former minicob and cherry, and a flavoured cigar that I had while typing out my morning smoke. When all is said and done, I'll be going back to my old routine heavily influenced by Bob.
It's been my observation that most Englishes are Virginia based, but it also seems that an English is currently any concoction that has latakia in it. As I often like a touch of lat in the morning, I concocted my own Vitamin N rich "English" based around SWR, (7:1) a burley Codger infused with a very sweet anise undertone, that I've loved from the start of my piping career. Thus it was today.
Going to customize the procedure in upcoming days . . . . . kinda miss my morning cherry and minicob plus a cheap raunchy flavoured cigar sometimes, so I have a home mix concoction based on burley, lat, and a cherry cavendish that, might cover all bases if it works out. Never heard of a Cherry English before, but I'm sure there is one out there. If not, there will be in a few days. The prototype is doing a quick cure in plastic freezing bag.
Skippable Drivel: preparing a post on the Dan Tobacco Company's 50th Anniversary Jubilee Pipe Tobacco of 2009. It's my first forum post delving into tobacco history. There are some here who may be interested in this piece of pipelore, how I found it, and its own characteristics. (hint: it's absolutely fantastic.)
Post should be ready tonight.
