GL Pease Samarra, in my opinion, needs no introduction. It’s a legendary blend — mysterious and complex, revealing new facets every time you smoke it. I’ve read many reviews and had a good laugh: some people complain that it tastes like “burnt cardboard,” while others praise it to the skies. Pease truly is a genius of blending.

Memphis is a hidden gem for foodies. I love Gus's fried chicken, Dyer's burgers and shakes and Central bbq enough to make the road trip west occasionally. Hatties tamales are special!
Hey there, Jed.
I notice that your website is battlefields.org and you live in Franklin. Perchance do you work with any of the Battle of Franklin sites??

Taking a break by Smoking some 2016 Triple Play in the MiniMeer, double IPA on the side - I am in the middle of figuring out where my fault to ground is on one of the circuits in my house - what a drag! Grateful for the time and wherewithal to deal with the issue, just wish I could have picked the day. Also grateful my attic is easily navigable. Couple beers ought to do the trick, problem’ll solve itself! IMG_8060.jpeg

Paul, that kind of stuff just makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The fact that a living thing (tree) could have been present when all of these aspects of history took place. You live (Richmond) in such a hotbed of US history that it's just amazing what all went on right there. In addition to what you said with the occurrences mentioned above, that tree wasn't too far from Patrick Henry saying, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" in St. John's church or Lee holding McClellan out of Richmond through several battles during the 7 Days campaign or Lee catching Grant's men in an enfilade fire of cannister during Battle of Cold Harbor, etc, etc, etc......

Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.
Yeah. This kind of history is cool. This tree was in my in-laws pasture. It was hit by lightning and split 3 ways about 3 years ago.

They still get teary about it.

Wow..... great story and thanks for the link.
Isn't Mena in west Arkansas, near the Oklahoma line???
Yes, I bet they do get teary eyed. A tree like that is like the old Patriarch of a family. It is so sad to see one go.....

Thanks for sharing.
