Bought a tool today that I have never owned before. It's a pole saw. I have been working hard over past year or so to clear out and expand pastures to the fences. I had cleared out the lower stuff with my conventional chain saw but I could not get the high stuff so that I could run tractor and bush hog without getting a face full of tree limbs. This pole saw is just the trick. Then, I came through with the tractor and forks and got up the brush.

So,...... after all that work, I relaxed with some Orlik golden slice in my Comoys Dublin. Boy, it tasted good. It's funny how a pipe is even better after you have put in some worthwhile work. Sparkling water to drink...

Just finished smoking year 2020 C&D Virginia Flake in a straight medium brown 1922-1937 Irish Free State era Peterson 222 bullcap with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. It's time to check on the ferals.

@dottlejockey You have such an amazing collection of Meerschaums. I have always especially adored "The Hammer." What a masterpiece! 😻

@Goblin_Walrus Congrats on your first Meer! I love them. Got just the one, but I know I will acquire another (and another) in the future. 🤍👍
Thank you! I was terribly excited when the package came today, and I’m already in love and planning my next meerschaum purchase. I’m thinking one of two directions: a crazy figural, or a bare-bones classic English shape. But a bigger bowl, for sure. This one will be fantastic for my straight Virginias.

Mine paid for itself with the first use. Once you have one you realize very quickly how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time.

Earlier had a cheeseburger and a porter with my wonderful wife at Brick Streets brewery in Corsicana TX. After dinner, Briar Fox (courtesy of a sample from @Servant King) in my blasted Dracula 106 billiard and, what can I say, I added myself to the email list on smoking pipes for the 1lb format of Briar Fox. Just a good well-rounded smoke, but at the same time more than the sum of its parts. IMG_8048.jpeg
