Hey there, Scopes.........View attachment 424822Morning time with Lazy Bones in a Kaywoodee Oom Paul.
So, I wanted to share this big news with all of you—last night, Susan and I tied the knot!
It was a beautiful night. I’d never seen so many stars in this area before (you could see more than just Orion’s belt and shoulders in the constellation). The little fire we had going in the firepit was very cozy and kept us comfortable.
Congratulations to you both! May you have many happy years together, and many happy smokes!
Interesting question. It is a mix of Lane RLP-6, a smidge of Maryland and Turkish, with a bit of Cherry. The bend has quite a bit of Cavendish in it due to the RLP-6 and Cherry and it has been my experience that Cavendish is not a tobacco that ages all that well. When fresh, it is a delight. I made extra batches of it due to Sutliff's closing - they were my source for Maryland, Turkish, and the Cherry. This is an older batch from 2021. I was going to hold off smoking the majority of the batches must later, but now that I see aging doesn't improve it at all, I will be putting it into rotation more regularly. That's a shame, because I certainly enjoyed it when fresh. Thanks for asking.Hey there, Scopes.........
I believe you said the other day, that Lazy Bones was your dad's favorite (or maybe I dreamt it....).
I'm not familiar with it. What is it like??
Cool Zippo! I have a lightning bug which I believe is in that series. I also just dug it out.
I never looked in to that series (or even considered that there were other insect themed zippos)- but I can still vividly remember when and where I bought it.Cool Zippo! I have a lightning bug which I believe is in that series I also just dug out.
Cool story! This isn't mine, just a photo I grabbed off the web but this is the same design as the one I have. I had driven about 20 miles outside of town to an auto shop that belonged to a friend of a friend at the time.
He was willing to install my new long tube headers without catalytic converters (shhhh!).
Meanwhile, I had another friend who lived in that area come pick me up. We had a few hours to kill so we drove around the little town…
Ended up grabbing some lunch and then stopped in to a humongous “smoke shop/peep show/adult bookstore”… you know, for shits and giggles.
Anyway, they had a big rotating Zippo display and when I saw the cicada, I knew I had to have it.
So it always reminds me of that day- which was a good day, I must say. =]
