IMG_0471.jpegBeing the weekend, it's a two bowl Saturday. Earlier, after chores, I enjoyed some sun and a bowl of Ellipsis Flake in a Savinelli Siena Prince 315 KS. Now that it's after dinner, it's back out to the stoop for bowl of three year old G.L. Pease Odyssey in a Savinelli Punto Oro rusticated 616 KS. This one was part of a limited run, hence the Oceano stem.

The Stellar's Jays are gracing the yard and even had a visit from a very pretty female Evening Grosbeak. The Juncos have returned as well, marking the change in season.

I’m starting off with Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in the first Savinelli Ottagono, a sandblasted, black, Straight Billiard (sort of a Pot after shaping) Limited Edition (No. 359/550), with a 9mm orange and black craquelure acrylic stem (I’m not using a filter; I opted for a 3mm adapter). This first Ottagono in the series used new old-stock stummels (probably made from leftover Octavia 138 stummels).

I’m following that up with Savinelli Brunello Flake in a sandblasted, black, Savinelli Ottagono Due (aka Ottagono II) Straight Dublin Limited Edition (No. 63/600, selected for my birth year, 1963); our buddy, John, is using his Ottagono Due (No. 76/600, selected for his birth year, 1976).

Next up will be Savinelli Juno in a sandblasted, black, Savinelli Ottagono Tre (aka Ottagono III) Bent Billiard Limited Edition (No. 484/600, selected for the two 4s and one 8 tying in with the octagonal theme). This pipe is based on the Octavia 638.

I got John a belated birthday present and thank you for being one of our witnesses last night: this year’s eight-sided release, a Savinelli Ottagono Long Sandblasted 138. I got him number 448 (mine is 484). I’m having Savinelli 140⁰ in it.

(Continuing my notes from China) Smoking my Luciano Virgin Sandblast Chubby Dublin (GL Pease/Di Piazza Design, 2014), still with RMC Marylebone. You might think this is a gothic cathedral — but no, my friends, it’s actually a sports complex. On the ground floor there’s a huge gym. Got an awesome 9 holes in with the boys this afternoon.. beautiful Northeast Autumn weather and colors. Sometimes you just need to touch grass, as they say, and man did it do my soul good today...

Brought the Bag-O-Bones' but they went unsmoked :( Gotta keep up that pace! And I knew the guys behind us too so I didn't wanna slow their game with my stuffing and tamping lol.

Settled for a Black & Mild Original Wood Tip and Drew Estate Tabak Especial Cafe Leche Mini 🤙 :)
