And the older tin has the label painted on, while the newer has a plastic label glued on top of the red (painted) lid. I wonder if there is anything printed underneath...

Stupid question... do they hold the same amount or did tins used to come with less tobacco in them?

I smoked a flake, it smokes very well, but unfortunately, my sense of smell is not up to par, so I can hardly detect any sweetness or fruity notes, which I'm sure it has, because the tobacco is perfectly smokable, or at least that's my perception of the tobacco. I've tried several tobaccos, and it's as if my sense of smell improves and then suddenly plummets. I can't even notice the ashy smell. It's incredible. The room note is almost non-existent. So I'll leave it in its glass jar for a while longer, until my nose comes back to life, hahahahaha. That's how it goes, and it's my turn.
You might still enjoy cigars in the meantime. Yes, a few days ago, I was smoking some Partagas Mini. I have a few boxes, and surprisingly, they are still available at the tobacconist's, but only in mini size. I also smoked Toscano, and the sensation is the same as with pipe tobacco: the notes have disappeared, leaving only a faint, ghostly aroma that is impossible to describe.
The retrohale when smell and taste are gone is a unique experience, especially on perique heavy blends. All tingle, no spice...

You should probably meet ENT doctor who can check your sinuses (paranasal sinus CT scan). If there is problen that can be treated to improve your sense of smell.

Great score! This blend has changed so much after 2018/19 it feels like a different blend now.
All of the HU stuff is very different now. I think the stuff we get through Laudisi is pretty good/ better than most but not the Same animal at all. Pre 2020 Flanagan and Nyala are my favorite
