Have you tried their Cavendish cologne? I’m tempted to.
I’ve tried the cavendish shave soap. It’s a little sweet smelling and not what I think of as tobacco scent. Perhaps the aftershave is different. You can get samples from PAA / Phoenix Shaving. I buy a bunch of them. I like variety and trying new scents. Look under samples on their website.

I actually ordered it (the cologne) last night, and a handful of other scents. I like scents a lot too. Tobacco Oud is today’s scent. I ordered one of those double edged safety razors for the other bathroom, and a variety of blades too. The Mach3 is just too expensive and I don’t always want to fool with the straight razors.

Blades vary from brand to brand. Not really so much where they are made, just a different sharpness and finish.
Feather is one of the sharper blades. Shaper blades don’t always equate to an easier shave for you though. Get a sampler pack and see which brands you like more.

Start with warm soap and water on your razor. I’d have to really see a few good pictures of it before I would advise anything else. So hold off on the Brasso.
Ok I hit it Dawn and hot water, which did little. I hit it with some WD40 because there was surface corrosion that wasn’t coming off. You can see that some remains. Any advice for a final polish method?IMG_1338.jpegIMG_1336.jpeg

My money is still on the side of No, his is not a brass plated. It shouldn’t have cleaned up that nice if it was brass.
this is a picture of an older one I got that I never got around to cleaning up.

I know it isn’t brass plated. It looks like it has solid brass parts with nickel or chrome plating that has worn off on the outer surfaces that would see wear.
The top of the head looks brass, but the bottom looks plated.
The handle looks like brass with all of the plating worn off. The comb looks like it has most of the plating intact on the top and bottom.

Or maybe the handle and the top of the head were never plated, just the parts that come in contact with the blade?

I have gold plated Gillette Fat Handle Tech. Came with some water stain. Tiny bit of Flitz cleaned it up. Went very easy in it. Didn't want to polish off the plating. Of course, washed it off was warm water and Dawn.

Flitz on gold? I’d never have been so brave.
How about a nice pic of that gem.

Straight razor is easier to use than you think.
Gives a cleaner shave and no razor burn.
but if you have carpal tunnel, and when your hands hit a certain stress level sudden jerks and sudden lack of ability to HOLD anything.... straights aint great.

Try a double open comb razor from Phenoix artisan accoutrements. They were like 35$ or so. The original one they made is amazing.
So I take it the idiot with the yacht cap threw enough of those hot tub sex parties to buy his way back into the good graces of badger and blade shaving forum since 2015?

It came to mind when I was reading about aftershave lotions. Here in Spain, certain brands of lotion have lowered their quality. Let me explain: decades ago, a lotion that I have used since I was a teenager, and that my father and grandparents used, is practically water; the scent lasts for half an hour, both in lotion and cologne. I think the percentage of essential oils has been reduced to the maximum expression. Is it the same in your countries?

Referencing Floid aftershave, Poraso, Furbo?
Or some other company?
