Sometimes, when I am packing a bowl, I will find hardened bits of stems and things mixed in with the tobacco. I usually pick em out and toss em. That just sounds right to me, is that what you folks do as well?

Hell no! Break them up and pack em with the rest of the tobacco. If that doesn't work for you send them to me and I'll smoke em, no problem. puffy

You’re not alone- I sort through every bowl before loading in order to homogenize the tobacco. My theory is those stems act as little logs and burn hotter than the leaf which I do not want. After loading, any extra tobacco I’ve already sorted goes into my travel jar which is comprised of an ever-rotating mixture of various tobaccos. All part of the ritual.
