Was this blend manufactured at the facilities of the Danish Pipe Shop or by Kohlhase & Kopp?
I don't have an aversion to Burley, per se, but if I smoke too much of it I'll for certain get tongue bite. Virginias do not have this effect on me. The problem here is that Burley contains a lot more vitamin N that Virginia.
That's a neat, classy little pipe, by the way. Looks like a great field tool.

First smoke of Reserve XXV Dawn in a Tristan Granite Natural bullmoose.
Partly through this bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. The ferals have stayed outside all day, but it's getting close to their feeding time.
Yesterday's Evening Smoke:
Final break in smoke, thankfully, for my Mr. Brog Olivewood Military Limited. Now comes the interesting task of finding out the tobaccos that bring out the best in this pipe. It's really not a large bowl, about roughly the same as one of the medium bowl McQueen longstems - 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the burning rate of the fodder. The final smoke in the process was Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish, a full and rich blend that has become one of my favourites.
But the pipe only said "ho hum" which gives me a suspicion in which direction my search will begin, at which the pipe will say "Bingo!" A bit of Skippable Drivel below the picture.
Skippable Drivel: More tests on Wednesday regarding the ear infection and a couple of other things as well. I'm experiencing both plugged ears and dizziness after I wake up, diminishing throughout the day as I up my fluid intake. Pretty much normal by evening, and then the process starts over again. Stopped taking the prescriptions because of side effects. Hope to get this stuff all straightened out soon, and confident it will be.
As I tell my younger students and friends, "Hey - yesterday I was 16 and today I'm 74. It happens so fast it makes your head spin."
With respect to the pipe, it's really an excellent smoker. While I seem to have been on a mammon tear recently, I actually have the exactly the same amount of pipes I started with before all of this shuffling (except for a couple more corncob outdoor functionals) . I've simply given away pipes that didn't really turn my crank and replaced them with, what to my tastes, are superior smokers. The recipients have all been grateful and their pipe experiences have been enriched. That was the idea.
Pretty much there with the re-alignment now. Only one more to be donated to a rookie, and it'll be replaced August end by a Savinelli Bing. My Sav Avorio needs a stablemate.
Will post my morning and afternoon smoke this evening after the day's festivities end.

That stout looks *amazing*, but I read that Brasseurs du Moulin went out of business. (True?) I've never had it. I'm able to get some nice Quebecois brews down here in Texas, like Unibroue Maudite, Trois Pistoles and La Fin du Monde, among others. I like all of them a lot. Cheers!
KBV Alchemy Parish in my Mastro de Paja 3AL Egg and G&T. This blend is really starting to grow on me.
Can confirm @dottlejockey 's comment on cooler temps here in PNW. It is a fabulous 72F in the smoking porch this afternoon and the mornings are almost chilly. Another great morning for beating back the jungle on our road... I am quite partial to the 'parked out' look.
Chatted with the neighbor while on the road and we're agreed to look to hire additional help...it's a pretty big job (and most is her property!).
