The legend embers, the legend. One of the absolute finest actors and a personal favorite of mine. His performance as doc Holiday is on my Mount Rushmore. Damn he was good. Heartbreaking for me to hear he passed.

No doubt his Doc H. portrayal was magnificent...by far the highlight of that movie.

65 was too young.

RIP Val.

I was so happy to see him in the new Top Gun but was shocked at how he looked. He had health issues for a long time. RIP to one of the all-time greats. Top Secret was great, but Real Genius was just that. Always enjoyed his performances in anything I saw him in.

RIP

In that movie he was actually looking pretty good compared to his actual condition. In 2021 he made a movie/documentary(Val) where he explains some of his issues. Inside sources say it was tough to film. Due to his condition, there were a lot of breaks and missed days. His autobiography is also a very candid look into an exciting and troubled life.
RIP Val......."I'm your Huckleberry".

Real genius and top secret were incredible. I was always more of a top secret fan, but as a kid, I loved when Comedy Central had them playing on a weekend. I’d watch them over and over.

His portrayal of Jim Morrison was a case of inspired casting.
Yessir, and more importantly, inspired acting. Have you heard the story where he sent Oliver stone some doors recordings and asked him to pick the one that was himself and which ones were Jim Morrison? All Of the recordings were Val and Oliver stone had no idea.
