The HH ODF is outstanding. But the "campfire" taste in it is mild for me. If you want a campfire go Latakia. I would start with Peterson Standard Mixture and work my way up to Nightcap. Good luck!

It seems light to me, but I've smoked a pipe for 50 years and I don't inhale. Good luck. The Old Dark Fired is smoked with hardwood and I don't find it very like Latakia, but apparently others disagree.

Completely agree. It's very different. My intention was that Latakia tastes more like campfire compared with Darl Fired, which tastes to me more like barbecue smoke (if it makes any sense).

Cornell and Diehl Mountain Camp. It is literally in the name. It always reminds me of camping when I smoke it. Seriously even if you're mentally slow it will take one or two puffs or sips before you think oh that's why it's named that. Great blend that doesn't get talked up much. It's either a Scottish or Englishy blend. Not quite English but very along those lines. It's a typical mild English with Cavendish and Perique which in my opinion adds some extra dimensions to the smoke.
Great suggestions above. While you're smoking a campfire, drink some lapsang souchong tea...tastes smokey like a campfire.
The first time I smoked old dark fired, when I went back into my lounge the following morning, it smelled just like a manure shed.
And I know what a manure shed smells like, because many years ago I worked on a mushroom farm for a morning.

For me, the smoked tea, Lapsong Souchong, reminds me of Latakia. This tea is smoked with pine .
E. Hoffman Co. - Spilman Mixture. Smells just like a campfire to me.
There is that Plug made by the sponsors of this site that tastes like that, some even say that Salty Dogs tastes that way.
MacBarren Bold Kentucky Flake tastes like BBQ. Like hickory smoked bbq. So kind of like a campfire but that campfire where you're so happy that you found wood from that tree.
