Can't say I've found that to be a problem. Yes, I have had that exact experience...still not seeing the problem.
I found seven jars of 2007 Penzance back in 2018.
I keep putting tobacco away , hoping that that will happen to me in the future
If it is good enough to order a pound, it's good enough to have some extra. I'd be over joyed to find some aged already stocked away.
I also found several blends that I had forgotten but well kept ...and it is beautiful...
Pounds, I only buy tins and a few ounces in bulk. I’ve yet to consider anything I’d want pounds of.

LOL I get you, it’s just I could have bought something I haven’t tried.
I didn't keep it. I gifted a lot of it here, blended some of it with 1-Q, and traded a bag for two tins of Murray's Three Year Matured Virginia.

I haven't found duplicates, but I have certainly been surprised by blends I forgot I had, and that is usually a good experience. Sometimes I'm not sure what to expect, and usually it turns out well. My latest surprise hit is Peterson Irish Flake in an old square tin with this great full-bodied flavor.
