On that post, I saw Regina Scarlotta listed. That is not a lady's name. It means Red Queen in Italian. Cristian's wife does help out, but I wouldn't really call her the pipemaker. Unless we are talking very loosely about whether a woman is involved in the least little way...

Yes as you read through the thread folks do point out the errors on that list

An aside: I always hope that the brilliant women pipe carvers actually smoke their pipes. The idea of making beautiful briars and then not smoking them is kind of disturbing.

I know Scottie smokes. Her favorite is McCranies Red Flake.

I think it almost goes without saying that anyone who makes pipes for a living has at least been a pipe smoker at one time, and most likely still is. How else could you even begin to approach such an art?

This isn't based on any research or facts, but seems logical to me
