Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our featured interview tonight is with pipe maker and aeronautics engineer, Adam Bybee. Like many pipe makers, he was a pipe smoker first, and then became inspired to learn how to make his own pipes. He has been making pipes for 3-years, and makes both standard shapes and freehand styles. In Pipe Parts, we will have A Tale of Two Blends, a review comparison of Cornell & Diehl’s Bayou Morning Flake, and Bayou Morning. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, Missouri Meerschaum, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.
We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • I enjoyed meeting Adam- he sounds like a nice, modest and practical guy. I bet his pipes are well engineered!
In response to your question about seasonal preferences in smoking tobacco- I would have to say not usually. But if the weather is very hot and humid, I seem to be attracted to straight Virginias. And I do enjoy my light English blends more when it is cold and rainy.
One time I tried to smoke Dunhill Early Morning pipe on a beach in Thailand when the weather seemed like it was 100 degrees outside at 100 percent humidity. That may qualify as my worst pipe smoking experience!

  • Enjoyable show. As I have never like either of the tobaccos ( Bayou Morning or Bayou Morning Flake) its not an issue with me.
Nice interview with Adam Bybee a young and inexperienced pipe maker. He’s got a long way to go. Maybe now that he is in Utah him and Hekthor Wiebe can hook up and combine there knowledge.
As I write this it is the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion. I frequently get very misty eyed thinking about the heroism of those men and the ordeal they went through. We have weakened the meaning of the word heroes in our society so much it is a shame.
