Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Robert "Lance" Leslie of Born Again Pipes. Lance has been restoring pipes since 2011. Pipes really do take a beating, and Lance breathes new life into them … pun intended. In the "Pipe Parts" segment, Brian will talk about the basic types of tobacco; Virginia, Burley, Perique, Latakia, Oriental, etc. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!
Tonight’s show is sponsored by Sutliff-Tobacco.com, SmokingPipes.com, CupOJoes.com Missouri Meerschaum, 4noggins.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.
We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

Goofy Smoking a Pipe
Good review of the various tobaccos and where they come from.
The interview was funny and informative. Lance was a good guest.
Nice to remember a man who died 100 years ago but the music was rather tedious.
Nice story about the watches. Pretentious people are always a hoot to watch. I am sure they thought they were the only ones on the plane.
Loved the show as per usual.
Great little snippet about the guy wearing two watches!! Couldnt’t help but burst out laughing (whist at work) listening to this!
Two watches…. haha- I wonder if he is wearing two necklaces as well, or two belts, or two wedding rings haha… or two shoe…oh wait…
Looking forward to the next show already.
All the best.
That was quite a wide-ranging, entertaining, and enlightening conversation with Robert. And, the web site shows his remarkable skill. But, no photo of the guest? I like seeing photos of the guests, so that I might recognize them at pipe shows.
I really enjoyed the Butterworth piece; it was perfect for kicking back with my pipe and a splash of The Macallan.
(Really, Dan? You find Oscar Peterson forgettable?)
The rant was choice. I, too, am totally unimpressed by such a Putz (Pretentious Upper Tier Zhlub).
I love the Goofy cel!
Thanks for another fun show.

Dino,
We had a last minute cancellation for the interview and had to scramble to get Lance on in the nick of time and missed the deadline to get a photo. – Kevin
Brian,
Great show as usual. What are the odds that there are two former Disney employees who are pipe enthusiasts in Concord? Pipe parts was informative, the rant hilarious, and the music a nice change of pace as well as thoughtfully commemorative.
I also wanted to say thanks for your suggestion of pipe tobacco at the NASPC show on Saturday. I’m enjoying a bowl right now. I’m sorry I didn’t warn you about the Columbus Zoo’s new no smoking policy. I guess maybe they’re concerned about their animals getting hooked on tobacco by second hand smoke? I hope you had a good time nonetheless.
