Rich is one of our regular guests that has been on the show many times, and is returning after a one-year hiatus. Rich has penned innumerous articles about pipes and tobacco for several publications, and he is known for collecting quite large pipes. We’ll get caught up with Rich and see what’s new with him.     • Although I know it’s a “thing” in the community, DGT isn’t really something I practice. As I don’t smoke many pipes in a week, I almost always smoke the whole bowl at one dedicated sitting.
      Rich had some very interesting observations about the changes and sometimes losses of tobacco blends over the years. It was also fascinating to hear of Rich’s personal criteria in choosing pipes and how he builds and culls his collection.
      “Misty” by Ray Stevens is a classic. It’s not what Erroll Garner envisioned when he wrote it, but a wonderful upbeat revision.
      Glad to hear that the tsuris of your house projects is nearing an end.
