  • It was quite a show you had this Tuesday. I don’t think you ought to go home for a few days after the show. Central Florida may be under water by then. Helen and Milton about two weeks apart has to make you wonder.
Interesting conversation with Jeremy on a topic I never thought about and it’s going to stay that way.
Your conversation with Andrew was most informative. I was waiting for the question about “How a big Galoot as him is allowed to approach customers”. Takes all kinds to make a world. 6’5′ and a pioneer style beard and has very little hair on top. I was impressed by his knowledge of pipes and tobacco.
I first heard Elvis in 1955 (I was 8 at the time) and thought he was great. Later in 1972 I heard his recording of “Hunk of Burning Love” and didn’t think it was much compared to his work in the 50’s. But times change and I really came to really enjoy the song. It was his last Top 10 hit.
Like everybody you just skip over Thanksgiving. I find sitting around the table and talking about the Old Days most enjoyable with family and friends.

  • Interesting stuff on burn rate from Jeremy, but it really doesn’t affect me, as by the time it gets to the tobacco counter, someone else has made all those decisions.
Andrew was a delightful guest. His history of the family tobacco business was fascinating.
Elvis’ music is always welcome. (And according to Dan’s recollection, I’m a year older than the ghost from KC. We’re just a couple of Boomers “goofing on Elvis”.)
You read the newspaper and discover that Halloween is all-year long. Maybe not replete with costumes, but scary all the same.
    Thanks for a wonderful show.
    Dino
