Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 616

Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 616. Our featured interview tonight is with Gabe Hall. Gabe is a 23-year old conservative Californian from Bakersfield that is involved in politics part time. He is part of our newer ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. Both his story of starting pipe smoking, and his smoking routine are a little bit different than the usual story. At the top of the show we will have an Ask the Tobacco Blender segment with Jeremy Reeves. Jeremy is the Head Blender at Cornell & Diehl, which is one of the most popular boutique pipe tobacco companies in the USA.

  • Jeremy’s discussion of tobacco naming and tin art was quite interesting.
I enjoyed Gabe’s introduction to pipe smoking, and how he’s expanded his knowledge of our shared interest. For all his youth, he seems to be on a solid path to becoming a pipeman. And, he’s a Sherlockian!
Your answer to Gabe’s question was fun. Yes, a bowl with Sam.
Johnny Smith’s “Moonlight in Vermont” with Stan Getz was an outstanding music choice. (I’ve been listening to it for years. I have the LP in my collection.)
    Clever and insightful rant.
Thanks for another always entertaining show.

  • Enjoyed Jeremy comments on pipe tin art. I don’t know of a single manufacturer who has made their art available to us. Jeremy explained why.
Gabe was intelligent in his answers to questions but he’s some years away from reaching us an audience. Nice that he is a Sherlockian though. We will see how he does in the coming years.
You can have Johnny Smith and whoever was blowing the horn in that piece of music.
Good rant as per the usual case.
