Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 600. Our featured interview tonight is with Dylan J. Schlender. This is the return of our series of interviews with “Journeymen Pipe Smokers” – guys that have been smoking pipes between five and 10 years. Dylan started smoking in 2018 with a Winslow pipe, and Captain Black. (He soon learned that he likes English-style blends much more.) He resides in CT and works in IT. He also co-hosts his own podcast, “Reels of Justice – The Official Fake Movie Court Podcast”. He is one of four co-hosts where they put a movie on trial each week. At the top of the show, in celebration of upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, Brian will read “Paddy Larrigan’s 100th Birthday” by Chuck Stanion. It was originally published on SmokingPipes.com’s Daily Reader.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector.
Really enjoyed this show thanks to the inclusion of Louie Armstrong. That guy could read the phone book and it would still sound great to me.
Greatly enjoyed the work of Chuck Stanion as read by you. It was a great story and a fine tribute to Paddy. Not many craftsmen around like him anymore.
Dylan was a fine quest. Unlike many of the folks of his age he has reasonable understanding that it is okay to disagree with somebody as long as you are civil about it. His liking of Dunhill tobaccos. I too greatly enjoy Dunhill tobaccos when they made them and I really like Nightcap. It is a shame he couldn’t have the pleasure of smoking those blends. I must admit there hasn’t been a major falloff in flavor of those blends since STK started making them and the Peterson blends. He’s a little young to have his palate making a major change in what he likes. But he better watch out because it could hit later in life.
The boys at Smokingpipes.com can really deliver when it comes to servicing the customer. Kudos to Sykes and company.
Thank you for sharing this article with your listeners. I had missed reading it at the “Daily Reader”, but your recitation was very well done. I will now go back and read Chuck’s article, as it was so nicely written.
Dylan’s backstory is somewhat typical of the “younger” Journeyman guests, and he seems to be growing well into the community. His questions for you and the answers were interesting, insightful, and quite entertaining.
I totally agree with Dan. You can play Louis anytime you want. I just love Pops!
Nice follow-up on last week’s rant. Good on SmokingPipes.com.
Thanks for another wonderful show.
