Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 594

Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 594

Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 594. Our featured interview tonight is with Piping Artist Steph from the Steph & Skip Cain Show on YouTube. Steph is an artistic painter amongst other pursuits. She started smoking a pipe in 2017, smoking aromatics, like many of us pipe smokers. Then she discovered the joys of Latakia, also like many of us. Steph actually introduced her second husband, Skip, to pipe smoking and not the other way around as you might think. Their YouTube channel is six years old with 363 videos, and 1.4k subscribers. Pipe smokers are rare, and female pipe smokers are even more rare. You’ll find Steph interesting, entertaining, and unique. At the top of the show, we will have an “Ask the Pipemaker” segment with Jeff Gracik.

  • The discussion with Jeff about blocks was interesting. But as I only care about the finished product, it will have little impact on my future selection of pipes.
Steph was a delightful guest, fun stories and wonderful conversation. She is also quite a talented artist.
I just love “Pistol Packin’ Mama”!
And I enjoyed “Pipe Packin’ Brian”.
No, Florida has problems? I’m shocked, shocked.
    Thanks for another fun show.

  • Jeff did a nice job of explaining how he picks blocks and what he is looking for. Unfortunately, I kind of nodded off during his presentation because I only look at blocks in their finished state. I rely on the carvers of my pipes to do all the heavy lifting.
Steph was an absolute delight on you show. She has a natural joie de vie that was kind of hard to not to get caught up in. Her artwork is also quite nice to look to observe. I wouldn’t mind her coming back on again.
“Pistol Packin’ Mama” by Bing & the Andrews Sisters was most enjoyable.
I lived in Florida in the 50’s for three years in Key West. It was a paradise on earth. Now devoid of the huge Navy base they had there it has become basically a tourist trap. And I always said about Florida it was a very beautiful state as long as you were looking at the water. Ugly as sin otherwise. Where do you live??
