Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 547! Our featured interview tonight is with Dan Croxall. This is the third in our series of interviews with “Journeymen Pipe Smokers” – guys that have been smoking pipes between five and 10 years. Dan is a professor at his alma mater, the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Prior to returning to academia, Dan practiced law at the world’s largest law firm (DLA Piper LLP) as a complex civil litigator and white-collar criminal defense attorney. He then opened the world’s smallest law firm (Croxall Law) in 2013 to focus his practice on representing California Craft breweries and related parties. At the top of the show, Brian will have a trip report on his visit to Jackson, MS to The Country Squire for the party and last recording of the Country Squire Radio Podcast. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Thanks for the nice recap of the Country Squire weekend. It sounded like a lot of fun, and most importantly, a lot of camaraderie.
What an absolutely fascinating background story Dan shared, and with such erudition.
The parallels Dan and you drew between the craft beer and tobacco industries were quite enlightening.
Dan’s “Q&A with Brian” was both revealing and entertaining. I enjoyed this guest segment very much.
“De Hamborg Veermaster” by Ronny was wonderful!
Thanks for another delightfully engaging show.

Very enjoyable show. Sounds like you had a grand time with the Hobbits of the Country Squire. Wish the boys continued success in the future provided they are not within my hearing.
I have this thing about lawyers; they have zero interest in justice. None, nada, zilch. All they care about is winning the case. And this is at all levels of the profession. They are barely classified as human beings as far as I’m concerned. Anyway, I enjoyed the interview with Dan Croxall. He is a pleasant fellow and his interest in craft beers is enlightening. The relationship between craft beers and tobaccos is obvious when you think about it.
One thing about your musical selections is I can always tell how I am going to like it by how long it is. The piece tonight seemed passable at first then went on forever and has left a scar on my soul that may never heal.
