Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 545! Our featured interview tonight is with Ethan Talley. This is the second in our series of interviews with “Journeymen Pipe Smokers” – guys that have been smoking pipes between five and 10 years. Ethan has been a Level 4 Kayak Instructor, an instructor in Canoe, Kayak, and Raft Rescue, and has a Masters in Professional Counseling. He got his first taste of pipes and tobaccos in 2013 at Boda Pipes and Cigar Lounge in Greenville, SC. At the top of the show, Brian will answer a listener’s questions on some behind the scenes tobacco manufacturing practices. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Happy Birthday to your wife!
Ethan was a very interesting guy with a rather varied background. I loved the Nørding pipe story. And, he seems quite savvy about pipes and tobacco for a 30-something-year-old guy.
The Pachelbel Kanon variations by George Winston is a wonderful piece of music.
My father wore a cologne called Tabac, back in the day. Today’s version is nothing like the old one. I really liked the original, which had a hint of tobacco to it, as it reminded me of my father.
Thanks for a fun show.

Nothing like celebrating the wife’s birthday week. Better you than me. My wife operates on the principal that nothing is too good for her. I usually need a month to recover from the hoops I have to jump through.
Greatly enjoyed the show. I found Ethan a charming guest who has a background that staggers the imagination. I am a little befuddled trying to figure out how kayaking prepares you for an a Master’s in Professional Counseling. I think the only advice a sane person would need is “Don’t do that!”
Interesting choice of music, but it lasted forever.
