Always a pleasure listening to Brian & Fred. Also enjoyed Ash’s segment. I think I’ll start by learning the names of the hats that were discussed.
The tobacco that really opened my eyes in respect to lower hydration level was Tabac Manil’s La Brumeuse. It comes in a paper package bone dry, and still smokes great after packing it a bit tighter.
Thank you for another great show!
Ilan
I rarely wear a hat, but when I do it’s a tweed flat cap as Ash described, or a Harris Tweed trilby. In a serious, Chicago winter I may don a woolen watch cap pulled tight over my ears. I don’t wear hats or caps as a fashion statement, but rather as needed. However, I really enjoy Ash’s take on fashion for men.
The discussion of tobacco moisture, cut and smoke-ability was quite interesting and informative.
I am always amazed hearing the late, great Tony Rice play guitar. His ease, fluidity and awesome technique place him among the very best ever.
I totally agree with your “rant-less” closing. Thanks.
Stay well and Bon Voyage.
Dino
The opening was pretty good. With my hairline I wear hats a lot and enjoy them. I have a couple of dress hats (a fedora and a homberg) that are really nice. The fedora I use for when we go out to have a nice dinner and the homberg is used for very special nights out such as the opera or a stage production).
Your conversation with Fred was just very entertaining. You guys get along so well. The discussion of tobacco moisture, cut, and smoke-ability was highly enjoyable.
Now lets talk about the music. Tony Rice is a wonderful guitar player and a fair singer. Then you described him as a bluegrass musician and had him playing a song that has zero to do with bluegrass music. It has as much to do with bluegrass as it does with sewer systems. I say “what-the-hell”.
Good job on the rant-less ending. Hope you have a good voyage.
