Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 493! Our featured guest tonight is Fred Hanna. Fred is a well-known pipe collector, author, and speaker at pipe shows. He has a PhD. in psychology and teaches the same at the Chicago Campus at Adler University. He is also author of the book, “The Perfect Smoke”. This is the third in a recurring series with a long form discussion of pipe and tobacco questions sent in by our listeners. Brian and Fred will discuss tongue bite / burning your tongue along with a mild smoke vs. a cool smoke, and Fred reveals his secret for cooling off your tongue. We will also discuss different brands of pipes for different levels of smokers / collectors. In the opening “Pipe Parts” segment, Brian will talk about getting your friends started on pipe smoking from two different angles. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

A wonderful show for the beginning smoker, but with insights for the seasoned one, too. One tip you didn’t mention is to have a cool beverage at hand. It will keep the mouth hydrated and soothed.
The music selection? Meh. I really like Ray Kainz’ song for the Stereocratic Party, that has rather clever lyrics. In comparison, Mr. Larsen song is just noisy, and the video is a mess.
As I often do, I find your observations in the “Rant” to be right on.
Thanks.
