Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 400! Our featured interview tonight is with Rick Newcombe. Rick is a well-known author of several pipe books, and a prominent collector of Danish pipes, and vintage tobaccos. He has traveled the world visiting pipe makers, and learning their different techniques. He is also the founder and chairman of Creators Syndicate, which currently represents more than 200 writers and artists. This show is our first in a series of “Seven Questions for Seven Experts”. Over the course of seven weeks, we will ask seven prominent pipe collectors the same seven pipe related questions, and see how their answers compare. Rick Newcombe Interview
400th show! Mazel tov! And, this was a great idea for a program. Rick’s answers were interesting and quite revealing. Rick is such a great guy and a true raconteur.
I look forward to the next six “experts'” answers.
I’m from Chicago. Styx is home-town pride, and that performance was very uplifting.
I can’t believe I ‘ve spent more than 400 hours of my life listening to you and your guests.
My best wishes for many, many more hours of this show.
To Patty’s family and friends, May her memory be eternal.

Mazal Tov on show 400! Terrific show and a great idea for the show format. Congratulations on coming up with a fresh idea. Can’t wait for the next six shows. What else do you have up your sleeve? Rick was at his best, too.
Cheers
Ira
Sorry, forgot to mention something about Patty Tarlor’s passing. I visited Craig and Patty back in their North Carolina days when we were blending the Hebraica Series (still available btw.) I often spoke with her on the phone also in those days. What a wonderful lady, the pipe world will greatly miss her. May her memory be a blessing.

This was simply the greatest of shows! I can’t wait for the other six people to be on the show. Rick Newcombe, one of the giants of our hobby, was a real delight to have again on the show. While, naturally, not agreeing with everything Rick says he is just a joy to listen speak.
The next six shows promise us some amazing interviews with great guests.
Mazel tov on you 400th show.
Congratulations on 400th successful episodes, Brian. I still have about 350 episodes on backlog to fill in my smoking time. I’m smoking H&H Fusiliers Ration while this smoking lamp is lit. Wonderful chat with Rick Newcombe, and a splendid idea for the next seven weeks! I look forward to listening to the ‘Magnificent Seven Experts’ weight in on the seven questions.
BTW : I prefer smoking a churchwarden pipe, when smoking at home. I definitely feel a cooler smoke on these long stemmed pipes.
