Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Pipe Maker Andrew Marks. Andrew is a renowned custom pipe maker residing in Vermont. His father gave him a Dunhill pipe when he was 15-years old. At 26-years old he decided to be a pipe maker and has never turned back. That was 47-years ago. The briar he uses to make his pipes has been aging for forty years. In the "Pipe Parts" segment, Brian will recap his experience at the Chicago pipe show from last weekend. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by Sutliff-Tobacco.com, SmokingPipes.com, CupOJoes.com Missouri Meerschaum, 4noggins.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

  • Brian.
Just went to the website and donated the 200.00 right away. So anyway I will not be sending the check. It’s been donated!! God Bless. Good interview tonight. Andrew Marks is sure is a New Yorker. It takes one to know one…….smooth…… I thoroughly enjoyed your show…….as usual. Hopefully my health will allow me to see you in Chicago next year !! I need some clay pipes

  • Great show Brian,I wasn’t able to make it to Chicago this year but I’ll see you in Columbus,I agree with your rant, these businesses don’t realize how much money they are losing by being unfriendly to smokers.By the way I loved the music choice,I used to listen to blues brothers music all the time.

  • You sir, are the epitome of pipe radio hosts. Enjoyed the interview with Andrew Marks but it left me wanting more. When he finishes that last bag of briar, he should write a book about pipes and pipe carving. I would buy it
The one thing lacking was information on where to purchase his pipes. I looked at his website and saw information to order a custom made pipe but are they available anywhere else.

  • My first question is where is John Seiler?? Did you run him off?
Nice report on the Chicago pipe show. They have so many things going on there it is just amazing. No radio show could possibly cover their show properly. They just do an amazing job.
Andrew Marks is one of the Old Guard of carvers.

  • Hi Brian, great show. Speaking on the rant, I was in Peoria the same weekend as the Chicago show and endured the same weather as you. Not very inviting for a pipe full.
Interesting was how my wife’s family has a large 33′ semi open air boat. They wouldn’t allow me to smoke except on the rear platform when completely stopped. Seriously? Ruined an otherwise perfect cruise on the huge Illinois River, as I was fearful of dropping my pipe in the river or tumbling off myself. GRRR….not worth the aggravation.
