  • Thanks for the kind words about the Chicago Show, and for a nice recap of the show activities. Again, it was fun sharing a few bowls with you.
Josh was a very engaging guest, interesting, humorous, and congenial. His arty pipes are strange and wonderful. I also loved the “bird soundscape.”
Wayne and I always spend quite a bit of time, at the Chicago Show each year, catching-up and talking jazz. Nice music choice. I like his “saloon singer” style.
    Good rant.
Thanks for an always entertaining show.

  • A greatly entertaining show. I particularly enjoyed the part about who was elected Docter of Pipes and Master of Pipes. While the election of Tom Eltang to DoP for the professional class was kind of a no-brainer the selection of Scott Thile was a real surprise in the hobbyist division because I’ve always thought of him as a pipe carver and therefore a professional. When I heard the honor was for his development of Pipedia I realized my mistake. Truly two well deserving candidate. The MoPs were well selected in Nate King in the professional class and James Foster in the hobbyist. Nate has always been a favorite of mine. Back in the days when he could fool around his steam punk pipes were just amazing. James Foster has done quite of bit work publicizing various events and getting the Texas Pipe Show going. Great job by the Docters and Masters of pipes who voted for these men.
Great job reporting on the Chicago show. I just wish people when posting photos would tell us who is in the pictures. I would say that in 3/4ths of the picture they don’t say who they are taking a photo of. Anyway, from what I am hearing attendance was well up from last year. Not as good as in the pre-Covid days but improving.
Great job interviewing Josh. You really allowed his personality to shine.
