The Pipes Magazine Radio Show – Episode 310

Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our featured interview tonight is with Rabbi Ira F. Stone. He is a leading figure in the contemporary renewal of the Musar movement, a Jewish ethical movement. He teaches at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and has been the spiritual leader at Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel in Philadelphia since 1988. Rabbi Stone has published numerous articles on theology and rabbinics, as well as texts on Mussar and books of poetry. He is also, of course, a pipe smoker. In Pipe Parts, Brian will recap the NASPC show. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, Missouri Meerschaum, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • I found it interesting that Rabbi Ira pursues tobacco in so many forms. Pursuing pipes and cigars simultaneously isn’t uncommon but hey, whatever makes a person happy. Thanks for another show and pleasant smokes!

  • I found your conversation with Reb Ira both entertaining and informative. He’s a very interesting guy. I also enjoyed the Sir Billy song. He’s among my favorite comedians.
    Good show, Thanks.

  • Hopefully I am not too late. I thought I already commented this week. I guess I am losing my mind. Great show, a very interesting perspective and I really enjoyed hearing about the Musar movement and researched Rabbi Stone a bit. Every once in awhile this show transcends the pipe community in a good way. I also love how much you love your car.
