People are posting pictures of such great commissions and pad scores lately. This one is right at the top, bravo.

Along with Michael Parks, Chris Asteriou is on my 'simply must own one at some point or another' list (working title). That is a fine piece!
I've never handled an author, what's the approximate length?

The pipe was delivered today and to say I'm "Pleased" is a gross understatement. What a pipe!

I'm glad that I let Chris dictate the size, at 55 grams it's perfect for the shape. He felt if he made it any smaller that would have diminished the overall visual appeal - the artisan was right. I wanted Chris' interpretation of a classic Author, with his own signature - he nailed it.
The fit/finish and stem is terrific. The button and tenon, have all the bells & whistles I expect from an artisan like Chris.

Both ends of the stem are oustanding

The overall size.

And this is exactly why I now prefer artisan bowl coatings. The first bowl was a 1 match affair, to a fine white ash (MM965). This one smoked like an old friend from the get-go.

What a grand way to end 2015.

All words fail.
Perfect.
You definitely deserve such an ultra-fine pipe like that,

man,

talk about a crown jewel,

that thing is absolutely royal!
The slot is like artwork.
Everything about the pipe exudes pure truth,

expressed in the goodwood

and executed with the highest possible degree of attentive craftsmanship.
But hey,

where are the nomenclature pix?

:nana:
I absolutely love his font choice and style of stamping,

in my eyes a thing of beauty unto itself.
All the little things come together to make one big wonderful whole.
A tremendous instrument!
Enjoy & smoker 'er well!
Major congrats.

Nomenclature shots are amongst the most difficult to get ain't they?

beautiful.
