why don't you scrub might i ask? no need?Dunno, but I wouldn't do it. I don't scrub.
Just a flush, and if there are bits of tobacco stuck to the wall, a paper towel or a tool to remove same.
I would be worried about scratching. Those scratches are where a tiny little piece of burning tobacco can sneak in causing damage to the inner wall over time.why don't you scrub might i ask? no need?

yes its overkill - don't know what I was thinkingI don't see the need to clean the bowl that thoroughly. We're I going to do something like that, I'd use the Magic Eraser. If you water flush and wipe with a towel, you'll only need to lightly ran the bowl every hundred smokes at most.
some say the older stronger Cyprian was smoked of yack carcasses and ram's dungWhat the hell are you cleaning after you smoke?
For quick hot water scrub - you think this would be efficient? Stainless steel scrubbing sponge - it's not like steel wool(much softer like christmas tinsel wound up) you think it will react and leave a foul metallic taste in the bowl?View attachment 89484
I do scrub, but with pipe cleaners, shank brushes, and paper towel wadding for the bowl. I don't want to use anything that might abrade the wood surfaces, especially in the mortise and airway, since that would ruin the fit between the shank and the stem.why don't you scrub might i ask? no need?

I guess I just don't understand the obsession to scrub every last molecule of carbon out of the chamber...
If it's that off putting, why smoke a pipe in the first place?
Me either, it baffles my mind to see the lengths people go through to sanitize and sterilize their pipes after a smoke. That's like breaking in your pipe every time you light up another bowl.I guess I just don't understand the obsession to scrub every last molecule of carbon out of the chamber...
