I've had this idea in my head since I read the book about Bo Nordh and saw his work. I really liked his standing pipe with the thin base.

"Can't tell where you're going with this in the shaping of the bowl, but the briar, shank and stem look good. The suspense builds.

Yeah, I was thinking of not taking any picture till I was further along. I then decided I better go ahead and get a couple. All I can say to the shape is I wanted some curves when it's finished.

The beginnig is very nice. I didn't see your other works so I can't understand your ability, but if I shaped it at this point I would be a little scared! I'd proceed very carefully without trying and make difficult workings. If you shape some roundings and curves, as you said, I'm sure you'll get a beautiful pipe.

Good job!

Finally got around to working some more on this. Wish I could just stay in my garage, just need to do the final sanding stages. I may even make the foot smaller, not quite sure. Still a bit too blocky to me for the base but I like the curves for the rest of it.

That's a head turner for sure. Great work. Should be a very cool smoker too.
